hi,

when I run a parallel job on a cluster everything works fine without a Udf, using the following command:

fluent 3ddp -t8 -ccp headnode this accesses 2 computers, with 4 cores each

with the UDF, I can run it in parallel on the two cores on the headnode i.e.:

fluent 3ddp -t2 this works OK with the UDF,

BUT when I try and use the first command, with the other two computers, it doesnt work...the problem is that it cannot open the libudf file or compile it, the logfile says it has to do with fluent_inc not being defined as an environment variable but it already is defined...i also tried defining this variable on the other 2 computers in the cluster, but it made no difference...i cant find a solution from previous threads, anybody? Am i wrong in thinking that only the headnode needs visual studio?

thanx

Is your working directory shared in your Network?

thanks for your reply,

Yes, I have shared the folder, also, I have changed the environment variable now from

\\headnode\c$\...

to\\headnode\...

and this has fixed the compilation issue, but when I try to load the library, it hangs...I have included the entire directory when I load the libudf file...which is in a shared folder, along with fluent.inc and the visual studio folder

thanks again
