Is CFL condition irrelevant for incompressible flow?

I am trying to model an air flow over an object problem. The Mach number is well below 1 so the air is modeled as incompressible. The Re is about 1.5e4 and I am using Spalart-Allmaras model. For angles of attack great than 25 degree, unsteady state is used and I wonder if the CFL condition applies here. The Navier--Stokes equations seem to be elliptic but I am not sure if the nonlinear convective terms play any role.

Thanks in advance.
