Hi there,

do you necessarily need mpgs?

Because I'm using PPM images and create animated-gifs with gimp (open source graphic program) and they actually appear to be very good.

Try using tecplot 360 that directly creates animations of high quality!

If you maximize the image screen before you make the movie, I found that the movie size is bigger and the clarity also better. Make the movie with hmf files instead of ppm (this gives more control on the view, size etc)

Export jpeg files with desired resolution and convert to movie using ffmpeg.

U need to adjust the hardcopy version of before u create MPEG.
For example, after u done the simulation u go to playback.
the playback have a selection on hardcopy and mpeg.
U click into hardcopy, set it as JPEG, and give damn high resolution for it , such as 1600x1200.
after that, u choose mpeg again in playback window.
now u will create a mpeg with 1600x1200 resolution.

i doing 800x600 resolution last time by using this steps, its working fine for me.

Take a try.
