how to do bandwidth reduction using gambit

Hi Pls I ve generated a mesh using gambit, but I need to do bandwidth reduction pls can someone guide me to this pls.

You need fluent software too. Gambit is only the pro-processor once u created the mesh in gambit u've to eported (file/export...) for fluent in fluent the grid/reorder/domain....

The legal way is to buy a license or to obtain one from your University.

The license is very expensive and I dont know how to get one from the university, At uni, we use ideas for preprocesing but its not easy to use for more complex geometries. I guess I can import the mesh in ideas and do the bandwidth reduction there and then export it.

What do u think Please.

Then I'm not sure you can use the band reduction of Fluent. Band reduction must be corroborated with the way your solver creates the array given by the implicit discretization.

(BTW if your solver is explicit you don't need bandwidth reduction.)

If I remeber correctly ParaMetis has some bandwidth reduction routines, check if you can link these to your solver ...
