Interior BC option does not appear for MRF

Hello,
I am performing MRF calculations. In Gambit, I notify the interface between rotating and non-rotating fluid regions as a wall and when reading into FLUENT 6.3 - i tried converting the interface wall BC to interior BC type. However, I noticed that when trying to do so, no "interior" BC type appeared on the right side panel in Boundary conditions. I am not sure how to convert my interface from wall to interior? If someone has faced similar problems kindly help me out. Regards, CFDtoy |

the interfaces should be set as INTERFACE.
Then in fluent: --> define/interfaces, and choose the pair of interfaces

Hi Max,
For MRF Shouldnt the interface inside the domain be just interior (according to Fluent manual). According to your recommendation, should I choose 2 interfaces while defining them in Gambit? I do not see the pair of interfaces option in Fluent for the selected face? The Fluent tutorials suggest that we use any BC while creating the interface in Gambit. For example, it could be a wall in Gambit options and then be converted in Fluent from Wall to interior? Does this part not supposed to work? Thanks for your input. CFDtoy |

Sorry I mixed MRF and sliding Mesh.
Forgot what I previously said about interfaces.

Hi all,
Can someone provide me with the sample case (i guess its blower.msh) that Fluent uses in tutorial for explaining MRF set up? I would like to know how to set up a MRF case starting from generating mesh using Gambit and assigning proper boundary conditions. Thanks. CFDtoy |
