Hello, I previously posted in regards to the fluent SI engine tutorial which is working fine now.

Now that I at least have solutions, I want to try and refine the model to do more and be a little more representive of a real case.
I want to start looking at combustion now.

One thing I don't like about the method is I simply deactivate the port zones once the valves are fully closed but flow can still take place past the valve for 1 crank angle after the valve should have been closed.
This is due to the need to maintain at least 1 grid layer in the sliding mesh zone. I can't deactivate the port zone at the same moment the valve closes because fluent won't solve.

Does anyone have advice on how this kind of issue is dealt with? I'm sure its a common occurance and areas of sliding mesh often need to be fully closed.
I would also like to keep the port zone active even when the valve is closed to look at how the flow behaves behind a closed valve.

I am very eager to learn about this type of case since this is where most of my interest is. I hope there is someone out there who knows a lot about this and is willing to advise me.

Thanks a lot for your time,
