efficiency of each particle size at hydrocyclone outlets

Hi

I'm simulating the separation of two sizes of particles in a hydrocyclone using dpm and I'm having problem measuring the flow rate of each kind at each outlet.
I injected 2 different kind of particles at different flow rates from inlet and I can not find any where in the fluent to get the outlet flow rates.

I've read some posts suggesting using report, but it doesn't have any useful information for me. It just has some information about the density and size of the inlet particles and number of injected particles.

Can somebody help me with this?

Thanks in advance,

Are you truly talking about two different sizes (i.e. diameters)? or kinds (other factors like density or wall reflection might vary)?
If it is diameter, why can't you simply inject particles with diameter(s) A, see what fraction are collected (i.e number injected and number escaped at collection outlet) then inject particles with diameter(s) B. This gives you collection efficiency for A and B.

Their differences are on their diameters and densities( two different kind of particles with different sizes they are).
The main problem I have is some people on their posts suggest using the "display/particle tracking/particle concentration" to get the separation but it doesn't give me reliable results (whenever I start the saved simulation it gives me a relatively higher number of particles from the overflow rather than underflow at the first).
And some other people say use "report", but there is no useful information in that section for me.

Do you have any idea for me to get through this?

Thanks in Advance,

Morteza

Dear morteza,
I know it took long time from your comment but now I have your previous problem that waste my time a lot please help me.
I have a 15 mm diameter hydrocyclone. Particles are quit light ( density = 1024) so the experimental efficiency is around 30%. Now i want to explain simulation efficiency at the biginning all particles exit from overflow then increase in underflow untill 90% of particle exit frm underflow and then do not change the result. I believe it is possible using particle track for efficiency is wrong and I should use another type of report . Do you know how I can gain collective efficiency? I have a range of particles from 1 to 8 micron and use dpm

Dear Laleh

Explain your problem a bit more. What are the parameters you change? And what were the operating parameters for your experiment? You can get the efficiency (number of particles) for each size and get the collective efficiency that way. You can email me your problem if you’d like

Many thanks for your reply. As you know there are several parameters to change and I do not know which one is important to mention. I wellcome to send my problem and explain all aspects to check it if you have time. I do not have your email. Please let me know l_abdolahzadeh@yahoo.com
