Meshing a 3d external flow..

Help...
I am trying to mesh the following scenario....
Hot air at 1000k flowing over a circular chain link at 300k. It has to be in 3-d. I tried creating a chainlink inside a box and defininig the inlet, outlet and wall boudary conditions respectively.

The problem i'm having is with the mesh. Anytime i mesh the box and read the file on fluent, my chain link seems to be non existent. Does anyone know how to fix this problem???

THanks...
