Guys!
I am modeling oscillating flow but not with the Acoustics model in Fluent, With general governing equations. Does anybody here have any idea what scheme is useful for this particular problem? First oder upwind? Second order upwind? Quick? Power law? Has anybody done that?
Any tips wold be highly appreciated!!!
Thanks
Behrang

Acoustics problems are usually solved with high order schemes. If you were to use a first order scheme, you would need an obscene amount of grid, and nobody would probably believe your solution, anyway .

Check out, for example, Tam and Webb's paper, "DRP Finite Difference Schemes for CAA", JCP 107, 262-281 (1993). Particularly the introduction, where you can find a discussion about what you're up against.
