Vof boundary setting

l am working on a stratified flow of air-water. can someone enlighten me on how to set up the boundary condition? l want both air and water to enter through a single inlet and each of the fluid comes out at different pressure outlet.
the flow is highly turbulent and l will like to use RSM together with VOF.
any suggestion, please?;)

Hi,

You can divide the inlet into two parts (as you may like) to get the inlet BC. Keep in mind to specify the volume fraction of water (supposing as the secondary fluid) to be 0 at the air inlet and =1 at the water inlet so that you get only air inflow or only water inflow from the inlets.
For RSM, you will have to calculate the initial pilot values for various parameters (eg k, e, w, etc) depending on which model you choose. This step is critical. I also struggle sometimes with these. You can get some help on these if you go to the wiki section of this website.

Cheers,
Pranab

P.S.: Did not get the wink at the end!
