perforated plane

if I want to simulate a 2D plane which has holes.
I try to build a model which has holes in Gambit.
But,this method is not good.
My question is porous jump is a sound-absorbing media or only a plane which
has holes?
Porous jump can replace the steps which build model in Gambit?

Thank you

what is your problem in Gambit?

You can use the porous jump instead of your perforated plate. You just specify it as porous jump in gambit and then you can set the correct reistance in fluent

how do i specify a region as a porous jump in Gambit?

hai
porous jump is available as a boundary condition in fluent BC options

if you try to find the pressure loss from your perforated plate, I don't think using porous jump is the right choice, since you give the resistance of the plane as input...
