I'm working on Tutorial #12 from the Fluent CD, and I can't go on after loading the UDF valve.c because this message keeps appearing:

Opening library "libudf"... Error: open_udf_library: The system cannot find the file specified.

Error Object: ()

Does anyone knows what I might be doing wrong???

Is this the first time you've used a UDF? On windows machines you need to launch fluent from the command prompt if you are using UDFs. (Under Programs -> Fluent Inc there should be Set Environment, after clicking on this you can launch Fluent by typing fluent, (perhaps followed by 2d/3d/2ddp etc.) into the command prompt, from any directory). Otherwise are there any errors above that in the compilation? This also would stop the library from being loaded.

if u want to load the library, you must install a C language compiler first and set the environment as instructed.

Does Fluent build a folder in your working directory called libudf containing scr and ntx86 folders? scr should have the a copy of the .c files you compiled from your working directory.

I had some problems creating the library on a 64bit machine as Fluent wanted to put the makefile etc. in a different folder.

yes, the scr and ntx86 folders are created. scr has the copy of the .c file.... but still nothing.

if u wanna use UDF u should have visual studio (SDK).and while opening dont keep the folder in desktop

Did anyone get the UDF to load, I can build the file valve.c, but when I click on load it gives errors and then I cant hoook the function.

Can anyone please help with the matter, I have MS visual studio 2008 installed and am using fluent in win xp 32bit.

Does anyone know why this is not working when asked to load?
