Boundary condition mesh interfaces

Default Boundary condition mesh interfaces

Hi!

I'm trying to compute the heat transfer in a flat plate collector. The 3D model consists of two fluid domains: air and water. The water flows through a tube (solid) that is surrounded by air in an enclosure. I connected the two domains using the Mesh Interface option and enabled Coupled Wall (see attachment). This generates four walls as shown in the attachment. They appear in the boundary conditions as walls, but I'm not sure which wall I should adjust to model convection in the water domain.

Fluent will automatically take care of the convection, If you still want to know just click on the wall in the boundary condition window and it will tell about the adjacent cell zone.

Hi everyone

I am a novice to FLUENT.

Can you tell me whether this method of mesh interfaces is valid for hex-hex mesh as well? Or is it that at least one of the meshes has to be a tet mesh?

Please let me know.
