Hi,

I did a comparsion of three different meshes, all the same geometry (all tets, all hexa, hybrid mesh splitted by interfaces). After a few simulations I gained acceptable (comparable) results between the hybrid and hexa mesh. The results of the tets mesh are way of. I used Ansys 12.1, 3d tube, rke, with two inlets, one tangential and the other one central and normal to flow direction (relativly high swirl number).

Has anyone a idea where those differences come from?

Regards

Hi
Tetra elements cause more numerical dissipation than hexa elements...Always use hexa, as far as ure geometry allows it.
