Dear Colleagues,

first "saludos" everyone, this is my first post.

Iīve simulated a cooling water basin with bay suction pumps. I didnīt have any problem with the simulation but once finished I ask me if there was another better boundary condition selection.

Iīve meshed the geometry of the bay, and selected input pipe like inlet-flow, and inlet pumps area like out-flow. The other surfaces are defined as walls. Therebefore, the problem is a tube (with particulary geometry) with one imput and one output. This simulation works ok (3d,segregated,laminar), but donīt represent truly the real problem.

1š question: ŋThere is a better way to simulate the vertical pump suction? With this boundary condition selection, cavitation phenomena, vortex and swirls generated for pump suction forces can not appearing.

2š question: itīs possible assign atmosferic free surface to the top surface.

If anybody have any idea, or knows a better aproach, please let me know.

Thanks in advanced.
