What is the relation between Static temperature And total temperature?
Hi all,
what is the relation between Static Temperature and total temperature? Thanks. |
The total or stagnation temperature is the temperature that would exist if a fluid was brought to rest isentropcially. In other words, the total temperature includes the static temperature and an additional component due to the velocity of the fluid. For a perfect gas, the total temperature may be expressed as T_total = T_static + 1/2 * V^2 / (cp), where u is velocity magnitude and cp is specific heat.
