Hi,

My research goal is to simulate laser hybrid weld pool by using ANSYS Fluent. I dont have much idea about this kind of simulation. Is there any tutorial available for weld pool simulation so that I can start learning?

Regards
Minhaj

I am simulating laser+hybrid welding with fluent too. A lot of promblems occurs and I am very confused. Can I have a look at your model and udf? thanks

my project work is regarding weld pool modelling. Can you provide a moving heat source udf that is working

Hi there... can you please share the type of heat source models you used for laser hybrid welding

That's very complicated problem because :
1) laser Beam generates very high temperature values
2) u must use udf with multiflow , transformation od materiał
Plasma , gas etc so i think U must hard simplify

Thanks for the reply.
I want to couple Laser and MIG heat source model. For laser we use conical and MIG,double ellipsoidal heat source.
While writing UDF, I want to know how we have to couple it with respect to cartesian coordinates.
