Multiphase flow, spatial discretization
I am working on multiphase reactive flow problem, while going through literature i have come across (even in fluent tutorials) problem solved in two steps, by obtaining initial solution and then final solution. My question is why do we change spatial discretization scheme from first order upwind of initial solution to Second order upwind in final solution.
I am looking for particular technical reason. It is mentioned on fluent packed bed multiphase tutorial that it improves accuracy. But, due to curiosity i wish to know what exactly this change brings accuracy in solution.
It will be great to be in contact with group or people working in the similar area i.e. multiphase flow and reactive flows. Thanks and regards
