hi every body !!
i have a 3d geometery ! i define the 3 faces , as inlet ! they are exactly similar[rectangular (14.7* 7.5] !!!!!!!!!!! but when i wanna import the hydraulic diameter in fluent , i dont know that i should import Dh of one of them, or i should import 3Dh??[ i cant define them seprately !!! because i have total mass flow inlet]

-mAx- will become famous soon enough
if Q is your total massflow, then generate 3 maflow inlet, with Q/3 each

hi dear mAx !!
i cant use Q/3! because each cannal has different Q !!!!!!!!!!!! and that is because of the downstream effect !! [ i only have Q !!]

if you choose the 3 faces as one inlet, fluent will automatically dispatch the massflow uniformally since the 3 faces have same section. So you will have Q/3 at each intake.

hi dear mAx!
then u mean that fluent cant understand the effect of down stream ! ya?
because the results of experimental tests, show different mass flow rate in each cannal !!!!

also , the other question :
how can i seperate these planes in fluent? i used surface\plane but i think it uses a infinite plane that cut my geometery in 3 cross section , again!!

what should i do?

the Boundary conditions are given from you. You impose it.

Return in Gambit, and select each intake surface as separated BC (inlet 1, inlet 2, inlet 3)
