I have tried to get kLa (oxygen transfer parameters) data using CFD, following bubble column tutorials.

As shown, when auto range checked, the value of the left part sparging air was much bigger than in the other parts, which seemingly showed just one blue color contour graph.

But clip-to range allowed me to get multiple colorimetric graph.

I wonder whether there is some reasonable criterion to cover a specific range of kLa.

Your query is not very clear. The Global range in Fluent implies range of the field variable throughout all the domains. But these are node values. Disable node to get the cell values or the actual calculated values.

Clipping means user clipped. You can clip it to any value. As far as dispersion coefficient matters, it could have any range. It depends upon your system.

Thanks a lot for your answers.

As you mentioned, excluding the node values can make graphs that I want to figure out.

Hello starry09,

Could you please let me know what bubble column tutorial you refereed to?
For Kla simulation, do you have to define field function yourself or Kla is defined in Fluent already?

Thanks.

Hi, hutudx.

I studied 'Tutorial: Modeling Bubble Breakup and Coalescence in a Bubble Column Reactor' from ANSYS FLUENT 14.0 Tutorial Guide.

It seems like that ANSYS has no kLa definition itself so that I define the kLa field function.

Regards.
