coupling population balance with reaction
I want to ask if I can couple a precipitation reaction with population balance method in the FLUENT? if possible,please help me and answer this questions:
1- I need to active multiphase mood for modeling the precipitation population reaction that happens in a primary liquid phase? am I right? ( two reactant in the liquid phase makes a precipitate)
2- if yes how I can couple it with population balance? ( the problem is when I active multiphase I can not choose eddy-dissipation method from reaction methods)
Population balnce modelling
I am new to population balance modelling of preciptation of barium sulphate
I need to do PBM using Fluent can you please guide me with it like for example the datas and properties we require for simulation etc. and How to go about with the simulation. This is done in Reactor where two reactant will be fed through the two different inlet and impinge in the center.

I am working on similar problem precipitation reaction Bacl2 (r)+Na2So4 (r)------»BaSO4 (Product). Did you find out how to go about the problem. You help will be highly appreciated.
it is long time i didn't use cfx and population balance also.
but if you ask your questions more clearly and specify what do you want to know exactly maybe i can help more.
Since in my case the BaSO4 crystals is the secondary phase, in the inlet B.C. for phase 2 volume fraction should be zero right? and should I define the volume fraction 1 in the outlet B.C for secondary phase?

regarding material creation
I am having a problem creating materials.. In my case i have a reaction like BaCl2 + H2SO4 = BaSO4 + 2HCl.. where BaCl2 and H2SO4 are aqueous solution of certain concentration and BaSO4 is a solid crystal.. So while i am defining BaCl2 under solid it is showing me error. Also i dont know how to make it a aqeous solution.. Also if I define it anyway,, it is not showing under phases...
And if i define it as a fluid, then also it requires viscosity of BaCl2 and BaSO4 which I could not able to find...
So,, if you have any kind of idea how to move forward please reply soon....
