flow in a vertical annulus

hi,, i am modelling a flow in vertical annulus with porous media, with centrally placed heater and flow inlet and outlet conditions. it is surrounded by insulation. boundary conditions given are velocity inlet , volumetric heat generation and out flow. i am getting a reversed flow and there is no temperature rise in the annulus.

help me.....

hi.... i am also dealing with the same kind of problem. i have problem with out flow condition. i extended the domain and imposing new conditions....

i tried it n i didnt got the answer.....can any body help us

reversed flow

hi

Check your operationg conditions..(Gravity) and try changing BC for velocity use direction and magnitude option.

good luck

i gave velocity inlet and outflow condition, volumetric heat generation from heater and remaining side adiabatic.. i am using boussinesq approximation....

Rashmichem December 22, 2010 03:14

Change your outlet BC to outflow. and let us know about your results.

if i use air instead of water ..temperatures r rising upto 100 deg. for water its not lik that. volumetric heat generation is 300000 w/m^3.

also pls tell me how to model a porous medium....
