Hello,

my preliminary goal is to model the gaseous discharge of a high-pressure vessel to a low-pressure one through a thin long pipe.

The system is closed. I can't figure out how to "open the valve" at t = 0 between the high-pressure tank and the pipe. Is it an initial condition? It seems it can't be a boundary condition since I have adjacent cells around this interface (hp vessel at one side, pipe at another).

Would be pleased to get a tip for this simple (I guess) case. Thank you folks.

Hi, You could use "patch" as an alternative initialization procedure: first initialize the whole domain to, say, high pressure, and then patch a low pressure on the low pressure part of the domain. Then run the calcs. Hope it helps.
