I have a converged car solution in FLUENT and I need to have a cut in the car and plot (pressure) in y-axis showing values of static pressure in the car in a side view (half) and the car in x-axis. How can I do that in FLUENT?

offffff, try to read and do the "tutorial 24 - Postprocessing" in Fluent Tutorial Guide, it will help you to get an idea about how to do it

Anyway I look at tutorial 24 (FLUENT) its for Turbo post-processing its not what I need I just need the steps to do my question if you know. |

Surface>iso-surface of constant grid at X=0m (or whatever) to create.
Then display contours on this created surface. |

what i need is to take a cut from the car and display values of pressures instead of contour plots like XY plot with pressure. |

yes but on what surface do you wish to plot? On an XY surface I assume (if no symmetry zone already) and this zone needs creating first.

so you need to create line (or lines) for specific side position (surface> line) then go to XY plot to plot pressur vs (x or y) on the created line
you can plot pressur on created surface too but you will have n plots (n = nodes) |

However i tried it and i did had the results of the pressure distribution of the car using iso-surface but it doesnt recognize if upper stream or lower stream. I think i have to use points or else to plot both upper and lower streams of the car in one XY plot. |

on iso-surface you could create surfaces according to results values of any variable (such as max or min vorticity value or pressur or whatever) euh ... i am confused ... but what s the diff between FLUENT solution and FLUENT results |

oh... you a multitude of choices
just follow instruction in flug (fluent user guide) here 27 Creating Surfaces for Displaying and Reporting Data 27-1 27.1 Using Surfaces . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 27-2 27.2 Zone Surfaces . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 27-3 27.3 Partition Surfaces . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 27-4 27.4 Point Surfaces . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 27-6 27.4.1 Using the Point Tool . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 27-7 27.5 Line and Rake Surfaces . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 27-9 27.5.1 Using the Line Tool . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 27-11 27.6 Plane Surfaces . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 27-13 27.6.1 Using the Plane Tool . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 27-16 it s more illustrated |

thanks for the help i figured an easier way of doing it, i chosed points and then created them on the symmetry plane. |
