Hello Duds
I am simulating two phase flow using VOF, as my second phase initial shape is complicated I can’t use fluent adapt>region which only provides simple geometries, but my question is in CAD design should I create a surface of second phase inside the main geometry? |

appreciation for response, actually i dont want to initialize, my problem is as follow: the second phase is kind of very undefined volume means that it is not a simple cylinder or hex or cube or sphere which is provided in adapt--> region, so I should create it in CAD when I am creating all the domain there, then the question is should I create it a surface there in CAD, or in other hand how can I define a complicated zone inside CAD after the domain generation,
thanks in advance for ur clues |

by a UDF you can loop over all cells and according to their positions, you can set phase to that cells. you should know initial boundary position. to accelerate your UDF you can use multizone method ....

many thanks for ur response, I also consulted with a friend and he suggested it could be possible through designing two plans in two CAD files (one for main domain and one for the second phase) and then calling them in ICEM or assembling them inside Solidworks or etc, maybe this way is more feasible/convenient,
