help needed in residence time distribution case
 

hi sir/mam myself eswar

my question is how to find the residence distribution of tracer sample using pulse input in fluent.

my project is study on static mixing.
my tracer sample is (CONGO RED DYE).
my experiment procedure is

1) inlet fluid water ( continuous flow)
2) inlet tracer sample (pulse injection)
3) i want to find the concentration of tracer sample at regular time intervals.

please help me

Hi eswar,
I think you can do that with solving a scalar transport equation in unsteady mode. for pulse input you can use a simple UDF and write data at specific intervals.
