Default Plugflow in a 3Dtube

Hi all,

I'm simulating a plugflow in a tube (in 3D) with the k-omega model. The only thing that enters the tube is water and a dye (to be able to follow the plug visually).
In 2D it's not that difficult, I made a mixture of water and the dye with "species transport", then went to "adapt>region". In that menu I selected "select points with mouse" and selected two points on the grid on both sides of the plug and pressed "mark".
After that I did solve>intialize>patch, selected the dye, gave it a value of 1 and selected the plug in "registers to patch". That worked.

But when I try to do the same thing for 3D the selecting of the plug with "select points with mouse" gives problems. When I use cylinder in 3D (instead of quad in 2D), fill in the coördinates, it just gives slices when I patch it, not a full cylindrical plug.
Could this be due to the radius (which I don't really know what to use it for)? Or do I simply have to use another method to give in a plug in 3D?

Greetings,
Momo

Momo,
I am also trying to patch a bubble in 3D but have not been successful. Were you able to patch the plug?

So far I'm using the patchmethod with a hexahedron as plug. There seemed to be a problem with my meshconstruction, which I adapted now. Results are still being simulated as we speak! Although there also should be a UDF-answer to this riddle.
