Hi,

I am modeling a water flow in pipe. I need to specify the speed of sound.

My questions are the following:

1. Can I enter the speed of sound in FLUENT as a specific value or not? How?

2. Is that need to use a UDF? How?

3. If it was calculated by FLUENT (not entered directly),
how can I make sure that the determined value is correct? Can I see it?

4. Is that require to define the flow as "compressible" (ideal gas)?

Hai,
I am not sure about your application and the need for incorporating the speed of sound in the simulation. normally u calculate the mach number of the flow and determine whether the flow is compressible or incompressible and make simulations based on that.
