Hello,
I would like some help on a problem I am working on.
I would like to know the flow rate on one part of my domain. The idea is that there is a leak between two solids and I would like to measure that leak. I tried to create a "bound surface" where I want to do the measurement but apparently bound surfaces are useless. If I use another type of surface I get results but on the whole domain.
Does anyone know if it is possible and how it can be done??

I used bounded plane tool to get the flow rate inside a pipe : from the geometry (gambit for ex) i took the 3 points to draw the bounded plane, i created it in fluent and then with the report i obtained the data.
The most important thing you have to consider is you have to create a bounded plane very near the surface you want to analyze, so that fluent could calculate the exact measure of the mass flow rate.

I did the same thing but it did not return any data, it just created a series of node.
I found a way to do it with the iso-clipped function, I create a surface and then I remove the part I do not want but it is tiresome and hard to remove every bit of surface.

It's strange.
In fluent,when you use the surface-plane-bounded tool , it creates a plane, not a series of nodes.You have to control if the three points you set in Fluent are correct.If they are ok,you should get a plane back, passing through those 3 points.

Hello,
Sorry I was too busy to reply but I found a way using clipped surface. It was not easy but it worked.
I have another question concerning another problem. Do you know if it is possibe to create an inside boundary where you can set a flow rate in fluent? For example to simulate a fan behind the radiator in a car.
