reading from external data
 

Hi guys,
Can fluent or UDFs in fluent read data from an external file such as .txt file? Basically I have values of force at a list of coordinates obtained from external calculation. These values are at a set of coordinates that may or may not coincide with the nodes in my Fluent mesh.

What I intend to do is write a UDF such that when the node in my Fluent mesh is closest to the coordinate from my external calculation, it will read the value of force at that coordinate. Because the coordinates can reach thousands, it will not be practical to key in these data into my UDF manually.

Does anyone know if it is is possible for the UDF to read data from an external file?
