Combustion Issue
Hi,
I am trying to model a wood combustion process using species transport with a wood volatiles-air mixture. I am having a few troubles though. First, what sort of mass flow rate should I use? I haven't been able to find any papers that show how much volatiles are being released from the wood. Second, I am trying to implement the wood drying process by including an h2o<l> -> h2o equation, however, when I add liquid water to my mixture it doesn't appear in the species tab for the boundary conditions. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks |
Dear Dylan,
Regadring your second problem. When using species transport with "n" species your input contains only "n-1" species. The last one is added to have sum of concentrations =1, thus satisfying the mass balance. If you add the h2o<l> as last species it will not appear in your bc. It is a standard practice to have the species arranged in your mixture list such that the one with the highest concentration (usually N2) is the last on the list. I cannot help you with wood combustion. Good luck |
