Cross Sectional Area of a Fluid
Hi, I have over the last month been working with gambit and fluent (6.3). I have been working through my first CFD problem and am still learn how to use fluent. At the moment I have hit a brick wall and was trying to determined if fluent can calculate the cross sectional area of a fluid with respect to a wall.
So the setup involves water and air with no mixing. This water and air is located on a wall. I have been messing around with the contact angle of the fluid to the wall and was hoping for a way to measure the width (in 2d, left to right measurement if plate was horizontal) of the fluid as it shifts from circular shape to cylinder/hour glass shape. I really just need to know the width at the thinnest point of the fluid, and this can be at the wall if that is where it is. ( another side note, is there a way to setup fluent so that it reconnects or force it to recheck for the licenses server connection.. been having problems with it loosing connection... to which nothing runs and i have to just click ok and then iterate and it works fine ) |
