Hi,

Simple question, I know it looks obvious but I have a doubt. I have 2 different ways to set the altitude that comes in my mind.
I could set the operating pressure to the pressure at this altitude, but I can also go to "Material" and set the density of the air at the proper value.
(For the boundary I use velocity inlet in the entrance)

I guess it would be bad to do both because it would mean a lighter air at a lower pressure and therefore mean a higher altitude than the one I'm looking to get.
So what do you think is the best the altitude in Fluent ?

Thanks
Charles

By the way, I use a segregated solver because I'm flying at Mach 0.8. So because the segregated solver is pressure based I should set the pressure only ?

Hi Santos,

If you assing a constant or variable density it is supposed to change due to the operating pressure. So let every parameter to be calculated from the operating pressure.
