opaque surface absorption coefficient

Question opaque surface absorption coefficient

hello,
I already have understood that this "absorption coefficient" corresponds to the extinction coefficient of Lambert Law.
Is there any value for opaque materials?? because they donīt transmit anything... that doesnīt make sense...
