Hi all,

While running the simulation in Fluent 6.3.26. i am getting this error.

out of memory.malloc_storage: unable to malloc Reconstruction Phi, size 6403648, t 2, myid 1000000.

I have a model which has got upto 8lakhs elements.

My system is core 2 duo processor with 4 gig RAM and 130gp free space.

Can some one guide me on this please.

This is a error that you get when your OS Fails to assign the needed memory to fluents processes. This could happen if you have a Superlarge array or reading a case file over and over again via a scheme file, or you just might have very large number of nodes.
Solutions that I know of include:1 Type in fluent.exe -s... and put a large number in front of -s, the value depends on the amount of memory your system can provide try different values keep increasing it until fluent cant open any more and exits with an error.

2- using dynamic memory allocation if you have a UDF, you can find some info on that on the web. try looking for dynamic memory allocation and heap memory allocaion vs stack memory

hi,
did you try a 64-bit operating system? I had ran many huge cases with some millions of cells on them and no error!
yours,
mohammad
