Hi
I just want to begin with saying that I am fairly new to Ansys Fluent and therefore the answer to my problem might be something very trivial, but I am nevertheless stuck. I am simulating the gas flow through an inlet manifold which is redirecting incoming gas from a tangential to axial direction. I am interested in finding out the pressure loss at a certain area. I quickly drew this picture in paint but I don't know if it's understandable, but the gas enters as indicated by the red arrow and exits axially through the pressure outlet represented by the red circle in the middle. My problem is that I would like to define a circular bounded plane like the blue circle in the picture (In 3D located above the outlet), but I can’t seem to find how. Please help |

Hi Hento,
Can you explain how you managed to do this? This sounds like something I'm trying to do at the moment. Thanks in advance, Wendy. |

Hi Wendy.
I can start off by saying I am running Ansys 13, and Fluent via Workbench, as I see I forgot to mention this in my first post. I have unfortunately not found any way to create a circular bounded plane in Fluent. But I found how to do it in CFD-Post once my calculation was complete. There it is quite easy: just right click on User Locations and Plots/Insert/Location/Plane and under "Geometry" expand "Plane Bounds", under type pick circular. Because I only wanted to use the plane for a few contour plots and some simple calculations, this was good enough for me. Anyway hope this helps /Hento |

Thanks Hento, I'll give that a go.
