How to calculate the wall temperature
I have a cylindrical geometry with fluid flowing inside. I have specified a constant wall heat flux boundary condition at the wall, so that a constant heat is lost per unit area from the walls. I want to calculate the wall temperature. For that I will need to know the inside film coefficient.
Can anyone suggest a way to calculate the inside film coefficient in Fluent?
Are you trying not to perform a conjugate heat transfer problem? Meaning, are you trying not to allow fluent to calculate the interfacial heat transfer for you? Generally, for a cylindrical geometry (a pipe) with fluid flow on the inside, the heat transfer between the fluid and wall are coupled, and Fluent calculates this. If you're simply trying to calculate heat flow through a cylindrical wall, there are correlations for inner heat transfer in single-phase flows which do a good job.
