I am having problems in simulating M=2.8 flows in fluent. can someone tell me the general guidelines to follow while carrying out such high mach number calculations?
Thank you |

hi
you shuold firstly use the compresible flow, you shuld be care about avoiding coarsening mesh in complicated curve flow which conduct the flow behaviour to enforce adverse pressure.

You can get a good result in mach 2.8.
Make sure that your mesh is good. Try to use fine mesh in shock area. Use density base calculation you can capture exact shock location with micron size mesh at the shock area!(otherwise you will get a thick shock) |

i am performing a shock tube simulation to be specific and there seems to be some problem from the start of the calculation. the set values drop down to a vry low value.
courant number, mesh size or anything else that i need to take care of? |

I haven't simulate a shock tube simulation. But i simulate a external flow supersonic simulation. I can't get your words. Please explain clearly.
