How to define hydraulic or total efficiency in a centrifugal pump?
Hi guys,
I simulate a 3d centrifugal pump using Fluent. How can i define the hydraulic efficiency? Or the total efficiency? The moment of the pump can be calculated? Thanks |
Total pump efficiency = ρgQH/M2πn
ρ=water density g=gravitational accelaration Q=flow rate H=total head M=moment π=3.14 n=rotational speed The moment can be calculated Report-> Forces-> Moments? I chose moment center and the zone of the rotating impeller. Moment center is the center of the impeller? The result is the total net moment? Fluent prints 3 values of the moment x, y, z. What can i do to obtain the final value of the moment in order to calculate pump efficiency? I just sum the three moments taking into consideration the positive and negatie signs? Lastly, i use the MRF model. |
hi can yo tell me about the meshing tool
|
hi farid what is your meshing program
|
Hi,
I use Gambit. |
may i have a tutorial how to model a centrifugal pump with three zones inlet, outlet and impeller
|
Any ideas? :)
|
Hi,
I need any tutorial to start meshing a centrifugal pump by gambit |
I don't have any tutorial in order to mesh a centrifugal pump! You can read the fluent tutorials about meshing in general!

Hi,
thank you for help |
Any ideas please!!! :(
|
Hi,
send your e mail to me and i will send you a paper apout how to define efficiency |
