Channel Model - 3D Cylinder

1 Attachment(s)
Hi there. I'm using Fluent for my final year project at University and just slowly learning how to use it!

I've modelled a 3d channel with velocity inlet at one end and outflow at the other end. Midway along the channel there is a smaller cylinder attached to the roof. I am interested in seeing the flow velocity field around the cylinder but when I check the results, the flow ignores the cylinder and passes through it. Any ideas what I may be doing wrong? Any help would be gratefully received!

Cheers

Hi Michael,
you are modeling an internal flow; you can go back to gambit, create 2 volumes, the channel and the cylinder, then you can subtract from the channel the cylinder, to obtain your fluid volume; the cylinder surface will be treated as wall.
