Getting the pressure waves in Fluent for a water hammer problem

I bet there is someone throughout this forum who ever worked in simulating the water hammer phenomena, in a pipe. My questions would be:

1. If I choose water as fluid medium, how could I transform it into a compressible fluid, via an UDF, or what MACROs could I use for this.
2. How could I better visualize the subsequent pressure fluctuations.
3. Is there the need to couple with the acoustic module? If yes, is there some tutorials to provide, I would be very grateful.
4. For the case of a sudden appearing crack in the wall pipe, is this situation a bit similar to the genuine water hammer problem?

I would be very appreciative for sharing your experiences!
Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Did you solved your problem? I also need to simulate water as compressible flow. Could you please explain to me how did you solved it? use any udf or special treatments?

were you able to solve your problem? I need help with solving water as compressible flow. what solver did you use?
