How to simulate flows between two counter-rotating disks in a chamber?
I am trying to simulate flows between two counter-rotating parallel disks (open at the rim) inside a static cylinder chamber. I know I can use sliding mesh by applying an interface (1) between the disks. But since there will also be relative motion between the disk and the static chamber, do I also need designate interfaces between the disk grids and the chamber grid, i.e., interface (2) and (3) for the two disk grids? Then Interfaces (2) and (3) will be normal to interface (1).
I think you can try Multiple Reference Frame (MRF) first for steady-state simulation first.
You need to create two volumes to enclose two rotating disks respectively. Then you can define interface (2) and (3) you mentioned as interior. You don't have create interface (1).
Hope this can help.
