Use of enhanced wall function in the RSM viscous model for a 3D sector
Hi all, I am running a 3D sector (60degree) of two disks, one stationary and the other rotating about the x-axis enclosed by a shroud, thus the outlet is treated as a wall. Periodic boundary conditions were enabled. The turbulence model used was the RSM model, with Linear pressure strain, wall reflection effects enabled and full buoyancy effects. Enhanced wall functions was chosen without pressure gradient effects or thermal effects. Once initialized the simulation runs for only 20 iterations, the y+ was found out to be inside the viscous sublayer with values between 1 & 4, before the turbulent viscosity ratio is limited and divergence occurs. It was also tried for a 2D axisymmetric case (enhanced wall function, RSM with y+<1) and the same thing occurs but after 8000 iterations. There were no problems with enhanced wall functions for k-epsilon, what is the problem in enhanced wall function for RSM?
