symmetry in FLUENT
 
simple question: does the symmetry plane has always to be xy ?? is it necessary ? thanks

Answer is no. You can make it any plane no matter the orientation. Does not even have to be an semi-infinite plane, it can be any size region. It does however, have to be planar.
