Hi all,
I have a cylinder and I want to simulate only a little part of it, for example 36°! In fluent I have to set mesh>modify-zones>make-periodic. In order to do that, I need that the two sides have the same mesh, it's right? How can I set that condition in Ansys mesher? Regards F |

You are using Ansys mesher correct? The feature you are looking for is called Match Control (of the cyclic type). Select your two faces and the choose match control from the mesh control dropdown menu. Follow all the prompts, you will need to specify all the information that it needs. If you get lost, definitely look in the Ansys help file (it is more like a textbook). Now back to Fluent, after you finish meshing and go to apply the periodic zones, you will need to specify the rotation axis. If you specify the wrong axis the make-periodic command will not work. The default rotation axis is the z-axis centered at the origin. To specify your axis (whatever it is) using the GUI, go to cell zone conditions and click on edit, then enter your axis properties, center and direction. Happy meshing! |
