Defining Properties and Exporting 2D Grids

I'm currently generating 2D meshes around a series of airfoils using GridPro.

I've been able to get the mesh and shapes I am looking for, but I have run into trouble now that I need to export the mesh into a FLUENT format.

The tutorials that are available demonstrate how to define the grid properties (*Fluid, in this case) and the boundary conditions for a 3D grid. However, if I try to do the same for a 2D grid, the program states that it cannot find a volume to define as a fluid. This prevents me from exporting the grid into a usable mesh file.

Any ideas?

Hi Peter,
In 2d , you will have to set the properties to the surface and then run the grid generator. In order to do so , do the following steps.

1) Select FLUENT from the PTY button on the top.
2) Make the desired surface current and set the properties by using SURF - RELOAD CURRENT , choose the property from the property option and say apply.
3) doing this for all the surfaces will help them have the property of the destined solver every time you generate the mesh.

That solved the problem. I'm now able to export the grid immediately after generation.

Thanks to sameben and jockel for the quick responses!
