the workstation today is shalled memory system?
 
Dear friends:
I have a Dell workstation with 2 xeon cpus 8cores,and 16G memeroy, could you please tell me it is a sharedMemory system or a distributed memory system.

That is shared memory. Not that it makes a huge difference, nearly all parallel CFD codes work with domain decomposition, which does not require shared memory. In fact, there is a whole thread on how OpenMPI for example deals with CPU and core affinity and the related non-uniform memory access.
