Couple problems right away:

1.) Motherboard and CPU are not compatible, look for a socket 2011 motherboard with an x79 chipset. The motherboard you have chosen is for the dual memory chanel Ivy-bridge / Sandy Bridge CPUs, which are a bit slower for CFD.

2.) If you are going to use that CPU you should get at least 4 memory modules as it has 4 memory channals.

wait sorry that was not the motherboard i wanted, in fact the socket is not compatible, this is the one: i looked for:
ASUS P9X79 PRO LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with USB BIOS
$319.99

You still need to get a kit of at least 4 memory modules.

diamondx May 24, 2013 15:19

you mean i should add another pair of ram ?? 32 gb ??

diamondx May 24, 2013 15:32

or i get a 4*4 Gb ....

Whatever RAM you intend to use, buy it in a matched kit. So you could get a 4x4, 4x8 or since your motherboard has 8 slots you could even get a kit of 8 memory modules. You don't want to get only two because then you are running only two of the four memory channels that CPU has.

good thanks

A small update and review of my new rig : Finally i bought these components:

Graphic card EVGA|02G-P4-3658-KR GTX650TI RT 184.99$
CPU COOLER ROSEWILL| ROCC-12001 RT 34.99$
CPU INTEL|CORE I7 3930K 3.2G 12MB R 574.99$
MotherBoard ASUSP9X79 PRO X79 LGA2011 R 319.99$
Power Supply Unit ROSEWILL|RD450-2-SB 450W RT 34.99$
disk SSD 120G|SAMSUNG MZ-7TD120BW R 99.99$
CASE ROSEWILL|CHALLENGER RT 49.99$
MEMORY 4Gx4|CORSAIR CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9B 139.99$
WLAN ADAPTER ROSEWILL|RNX-N150HG R 19.99$

So far, i've been happy with it, it is very fast, win 8 boots up in 10 seconds (i know it will get slower with the time), runs quietly and all was for 1500 $
