Intel Core i7-4820K (Ivy Bridge E) vs. Intel Core i7-4770K (Haswell)
I'm configuring my new home computer. With my budget I can not exceed 900€ and then, looking on the internet, I found that the choice can only be made between these two processors :
1 - Intel Core i7-4820K Processor (10M Cache, up to 3.90 GHz)
2 - Intel Core i7-4770K Processor (8M Cache, up to 3.90 GHz)
I would like to get some advice about the choice of the first or second, whereas for both solutions I can buy 16GB of RAM and a video card like Asus GTX650-E-2GD5, without exceeding the planned budget with the other pieces needed (Motherboard - case - power supply - CPU cooler - hard disk etc.).
Reading other posts in the forum I did not understand what is the best choice, also because the two processors look similar as performance and as instructions (for example, I read that it is important the AVX instruction for calculation and 3D modeling that is present in both the processors, indeed, in the 4770K is present AVX 2.0).
I know that these configurations are not the best for cfd simulations (a workstation would be better), but I am a student of marine engineering and I'm learning to use 3D modeling and cfd software applied to the problems of naval engineering (for example like hull resistance calculation, free surface modeling and wave response), and I think this could be a good starting point.

Intel Core i7-4770K only has 2 memory channels with maximum DDR3-1600, whereas Intel Core i7-4820K has 4 memory channels up to DDR3-1866. Most likely that means that 4820K will have more than double the performance in CFD - assuming that you populate all 4 memory channels (which you should! Also make sure to get high speed dual rank RAM).

It is possible to run the system (4820K) with only 2 DIMMs installed eventhough it has 4 memory channels (and thus 4 memory banks for DIMMs). However, then you will only benefit half of the memory bandwidth as with one or two DIMMs in each of the 4 memory channels.
High speed: If the system supports DDR3-1866 you should not install slower DIMMs. Some systems can even be overclocked to higher speeds than this. I am not competent to guide you on that.
Dual Rank DIMMs has 11% better throughput compared to Single Rank. I am not an
expert on this, but it has something to do with simultaneous read/write on the same DIMMs, which is not posisble in Single Rank. See Figure 37 in this white paper:
