Performance coupled field analysis Workbench 12.0

Dear all,

I'm working on FSI using ANSYS Workbench 12.0 by conjunction of ANSYS and CFX. I tried tutorial 23 of the CFX Tutorial guide (Oscillating plate with two way fluid structure interaction).
I've no problems with setting this up, but since I'm not an expert in hardware questions, I wonder why calculating the solution takes so long, since my computer doesn't seem to work that hard if I look at my task manager. It appears to me that it is not really calculating anything a large part of the time, as a matter of fact, the ANSYS Batch run is 'Not responding'. I'm using 32 bit Windows 7 with Intel Core2 Duo T9600 processor

Is this a problem with the communication between the different solvers? Is there any way to improve this perfomance, I assume that that is possible, but I don't know how. I hope you can give me any advise in this.

Thanks in advace for your answer, regards,
Bernhard

Hi

I have never solved a two way FSI problem

but usually in my simulation I use Parallel computing capability of the software so I could get the most out of my PC

Are running in Parallel or Serial mode?
